The Algiers ferry, streetcars and bus system are all part of the same transit system. Their excellent app is “Le Pass” in the app stores or use this link: https://www.norta.com/ride-with-us/how-to-pay/lepass
The app has real time schedules and lets you charge fares to your credit card and is also good for riding our streetcars and busses. Its really good.
The St. Charles Streetcar is a great way to see the old mansions. The ferries are pretty new boats that accommodate only pedestrians and bicycles. The ferry ride is a great and inexpensive experience in itself.
You can walk, bicycle, Uber or drive to and park near the Algiers ferry. Once on the other side. Streetcars, the French Quarter, a riverside park and “moonwalk”, Harrah’s Casino, Aquarium of the America’s are all right there.
