Amenities
Our “shared” entrance works more like a “private” entrance. Using their unique 4 digit lock code, guests enter from our covered front porch into the foyer, and then up to the suites where the same code unlocks their suite.
Our quarters are otherwise separated, and our policy is to use the rear entrance to our home when we are accommodating guests. We have guests whom we’ve never met, and that’s fine with us, even though we really enjoy meeting interesting people, but only if they so choose.
A 12 minute riverfront bike and ferry ride from downtown New Orleans and the French Quarter
There is a very nice walking /biking path on the River levee that takes you to the Algiers Ferry. When you get off the levee on the New Orleans side, you are literally at the edge of the French quarter, and a beautiful river side Woldenberg park, a riverside park and which is the site for our annual French Quarter Festival and “Lundi Gras”, our day before Mardi Gras food and music celebration
Once on the other side. Streetcar connections, the French Quarter, the Riverview Outlet mall, Harrah’s Casino, Aquarium of the America’s are all right there. Riding streetcars is a nice way to see much of the city and historic neighborhoods.
The Algiers ferry, streetcars and bus system are all part of the same transit system. Their excellent app is “Le Pass” in the app stores or use this link: https://www.norta.com/ride-with-us/how-to-pay/lepass
The app has real time schedules and lets you charge fares to your credit card and is also good for riding our streetcars and busses. Its really good.
You can walk, bicycle, Uber or drive to and park near the Algiers ferry.
Even if you are driving, parking in the French Quarter can be very expensive. We usually ride our bikes and ride the ferry with them or park our car as near to the ferry landing as possible and ride the boat across, a really nice Mississippi river experience.
